My Project 3-001

This weekend I spent some time learning more about the “My Digital Studio” software from Stampin’ Up! One of the great things about the software is that you can create pages on your own or use templates that are provided. The templates can be used as is or you can manipulate them to suit your needs. For this page I used a template and added my own text, photos and a few additional embellishments.

From now through November 30th you can get My Digital Studio for 50% off the regular price. Contact me to find out more about the software or hosting a Stampin’ Up! event.

Thanks to my sister-in-law Katie for sending me some cute photos of my nieces Kayla and Alexis!

Can you believe Halloween is less than a week away! Some “silly” ladies from the Hampton area invited me to hold a Stampin’ Up! party this past weekend. Everyone got to make this punch art card. It was a little time consuming for size of the group we had but I think everyone enjoyed it. Here are the supplies we used:

Only Orange cardstock – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

Punch the following items from Green Galore cartdstock – one Top Note die cut for the head, one Round tab punch for the nose, and one 1 1/4″ circle cut in half for the eyelids.

Whisper White cardstock – two 1 1/4″ circle for the eyes

Basic Black cardstock - two 1/2″ circle punches

Lovely Lilac cardstock – one Top Note die – cut for the hair

The ”HAPPY HALLOWEEN” wording came from the All Holidays stamp set (114916).

Thanks to BJ Peters for the inspiration behind the card.

My Project 1-016

I am finally posting some new items! I am the happy owner of the new digital project software from Stampin’ Up! called My Digital studio. You can create scrapbook pages, books, cards, and calendars!  Here is a 12 x 12 scrapbook page that I created tonight. I love how you can add digital embellishments. The ribbon and brads look like they are 3 dimensional. I will probably play with this page a little more but I wanted to show you how fun this new software is.

Dont forget about the Sweet Rewards deal that is going on now.

Early in July I celebrated my 20 year class reunion with many of my closest friends.  Some I had not seen for many years and others I keep in touch with on a regular basis.  So much time and effort went into planning the event but the results were just what I had hoped for. There is just something about the friendships that you form during your school age years that you can’t find anywhere else in life…

To wrap up the summer, our family took a vacation to Branson, MO.  (With a brief visit in Kansas City- thanks for the hospitality Tammy, Brock and Brody.) We had a great time! The resort we stayed at was beautiful. There were four different swimming pools and  the kids were in heaven. They liked the pool that was two levels with a waterfall in between.

They also loved the water and fire show at Branson Landings.

We got back from vacation just in time to start school:

Of course there is always a little sadness when the summer comes to an end. And what a crazy summer we had. (Did I mention that I started a new job too!) But I love fall – all of the colors and holidays that come with it. I am busy working on some new classes by mail and hands on classes too! More news about that later this week!

Happy Labor Day everyone-

Since this weekend is considered the end of summer- I thought it was time to get back into the swing of things and start posting again! What a wild and crazy summer I have had. Life is always busy but this summer seemed even more hectic than usual. (Hence the lack of posts for the past few months!) I will post a few of the summer highlights for you.

The kids got out of school at the end of May and we headed into the summer with a week of vacation bible school. I was on the VBS committee and helped with the set construction. During the week I was the “craft lady” and helped the kids with a variety of projects. The theme this year was Crocodile Dock and the kids loved it! My friend Tara and I spent hours building the cypress trees that surrounded the set and lined the halls. It is always so rewarding to see how much the kids get into the theme. I can’t wait until next year!

We spent the month of June preparing for and celebrating my brother Tom’s wedding. We officially welcomed Cathy, Tori and Evan into our family on June 20th.  The ceremony was beautiful and everyone had a great time at the reception. (One thing I think we learned from the wedding photos – you can’t force a “natural” smile on a  5 year old boy. Just ask Evan and Brennan.)

Part 2 of my crazy summer will be posted tomorrow.

Check back later this week for upcoming specials and class dates! And I can’t wait to give you all of the details of the new product from Stampin’ Up! called My Digital Studio!

red hat group2

This past week I had the pleasure of presenting a Stamp-a-Stack event for a Red Hat Society group in Hampton. After an accidental detour on my way to the church I arrived a little behind schedule. The ladies were anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalogs.  Each of the ladies in the group made 9 cards during the event and received some hands on tips for watercoloring with markers and blender pens and using the Big Shot die cutter. I think everyone enjoyed the projects that we made. Thanks for a great time ladies and I look forward to seeing you all again!
